Weekly Challenges in Gran Turismo 7: Vision of the Past 3

Polyphony Digital surprised us with their latest set Gran Turismo 7 Weekly challenges that you just'll have access to when the clock in your console passes midnight this evening.

Weekly challenges feature a curated selection GT7World Circuits events, with five races published each week. Most of those are those that exist already, but there may be also a daily slot for a “special event” created specifically for that week. Completing these races inside seven days will earn you extra rewards, increasing the more of them you complete.

This week's surprise shall be a special event: the return of the All Japan GT Championship. This could be the primary time the Weekly Challenge's unique set of events featured a fourth race, with everyone else withdrawing after three.

It is a ten-lap race in reverse order to the Yamagiwa Circuit at Kyoto Driving Park, and there are virtually no restrictions on the vehicles that could be used. All the AI will use custom liveried cars – some road cars, some race cars – to create an authentic-looking JGTC grid, so you’ll be able to select a theme or whatever. The first place will receive a prize of 150,000 cr.

There are two more higher value races waiting for you: the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy at Interlagos and the Race of Turbo Sportscars at Mount Panorama. The first is a seven-lap race for Vision GT cars that generates 850 PP or less, and costs 88,000 CR to win – but remember that you could have to unlock it first. For the latter, you'll need anything with a turbocharger of 700 PP or less, and you’ll be able to earn 90,000 cr for winning.

For the remaining two events, there may be barely less on the table to play. The Big Willow track at Willow Springs hosts a three-lap race for US road cars, with a primary place bonus of Cr15,000. There's a two-lap front-wheel drive road automobile race from Japan in Tsukuba that rewards you a paltry 7,000 kr for crossing the finish line first.

The prizes for events one and three this week are Credit Tickets – which you need to redeem within the Gifts section of the Garage – value 100,000 and 200,000 kr respectively. Get all five and also you'll receive a Six-Star Roulette ticket that may reward you 500,000 cr or 1,000,000 cr, or a Brand Central automobile value 500,000 cr or more (including invite-only cars).

To access the weekly challenges, you need to complete the GT Cafe 39 Menu Book and watch the ultimate video. Events are updated at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so the subsequent set is anticipated within the morning of Friday, December 13.
