It has been confirmed that the high-performance Hyundai Ioniq 5N will appear Gran Turismo 7next update on an ad that was hidden in plain sight.

We've been waiting for some Hyundai models for a while, for the reason that Korean brand announced its cooperation with Gran Turismo in the summertime. While it was really only billed as a “various sim racing” deal, it seemed inevitable that some content would make its technique to GT7 before it gets too long.

This has now been confirmed in a moderately strange way that seems to have been missed by almost everyone and linked to a spectator giveaway campaign for the 2024 Gran Turismo World Series Global Finals going down in early December.

In all online versions of this announcement, the prize for viewing the Nations Cup broadcast is shown in a nicely wrapped, square box with the words “to be announced” written below. However, it seems that the sport's version of this story is totally different.

Instead of this placeholder image of the web version, each the thumbnail and the in-game article itself show the Hyundai Ioniq 5N as clear as day and – in some way – almost everyone missed it until it was flagged today…

The remainder of the data stays unchanged: the reward “will be delivered after the next update.” At the moment we don't know when this update will occur – we don't even know what month – but there may be a probability that it should occur at the tip of December, or even perhaps on December 26, the last Thursday of the month for normal update schedule.

As for the automobile itself, the IONIQ 5N (in actual styling) was thoroughly received by the automotive press all over the world, with many calling it the primary truly compelling electric performance automobile. It's a twin-engine automobile, delivering 641 horsepower to all 4 wheels – biased to the rear – and a “simulated automatic transmission” that mimics traditional gear shifting, although you may revert to the more typical EV mode.

The 5N shares many features with its siblings the Genesis GV60 – a Gran Turismo World Series partner brand – and the KIA EV6 GT, the latter of which was recently refreshed with 5N engines and this gearbox feature, which can be a welcome addition to the sport too. Meanwhile, the GV60 will soon be launched with the high-performance 'Magma' model.

Thanks to Islaygaz who was the primary to report this on our forums!
