It looks like Lamborghini will reduce its LMDh program for 2025 and enter either the World Endurance Championship or the IMSA Sportscar Championship.
The Italian manufacturer, which has collaborated with the Iron Lynx team on each series, is reviewing its activities with the SC63 LMDh.
According to Lamborghini's technical director and acting head of motorsport Rouven Mohr, all options are being considered, including ending this system altogether.
Mohr explained that next 12 months's recent WEC regulatory requirement requiring manufacturers competing within the Hypercar class to have two cars is the rationale for the re-evaluation for next 12 months.
“We are currently exploring all possibilities for next year,” Mohr told Motorsport.com.
“The biggest problem for us is the second car [in WEC] was not foreseen. “This makes it difficult for our company to properly handle the second car.”

“Our wish can be to proceed to run one automobile in IMSA [for the full season rather than in just the endurance races as this year] and one automobile within the WEC.
“Now we find ourselves in a situation where we have to find a way to manage two cars in WEC and one car in IMSA, otherwise we will have to decide which program we will run.”
He said the choice “depends a bit on the package we can afford,” adding that “it's ultimately a question mark.”
Asked if ending the SC63 program was the least likely option, he replied: “Yes, definitely.”
“I can say that it can be any option, but our wish and clear goal is to continue,” he added.
Mohr identified that Lamborghini, although a part of the Volkswagen group, is a small company in comparison with rivals competing in Hypercar in WEC and GTP in IMSA.
“We differ from other manufacturers in that we are quite new in this field of motorsports,” Mohr said.

“The racing team [Lamborghini’s in-house motorsport department that manages the LMDh project] that's lower than 30 people.
“Before we did GT3, this is the next step for us – you can't improve from week to week.”
Mohr's latest comments represent a minor change in Lamborghini's rhetoric.
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, the corporate's top management emphasized the advantages of running two cars within the WEC while refraining from continuing to compete in IMSA.
Lamborghini's place within the 2025 IMSA series was listed as an enduro-only entry when IMSA took stock of next 12 months's field last month.
If Lamborghini decided to not proceed within the WEC, it could block its participation in next 12 months's Le Mans race.
Iron Lynx boss Andrea Piccini told Motorsport.com the team is able to field two cars within the WEC and one in IMSA next 12 months, but referred questions on the longer term of this system to Lamborghini.
He stressed in Bahrain ahead of last weekend's WEC final that Iron Lynx and Lamborghini are participating within the official rookie test the day after the race, in addition to Tuesday's Michelin test specializing in the event of the brand new 2026 tire range.
The presence of Michele Gatting and Celia Martin – participating in Iron Lynx's Iron Lynx women's program – within the Manthey Racing Porsche 811 GT3-R throughout the rookie test in Bahrain has fueled speculation a couple of breakdown in relations between the Italian team and Lamborghini.
Mohr suggested that one shouldn't read an excessive amount of into it and shouldn't “interpret it as something negative.” He insisted Lamborghini and Iron Lynx “are still working together.”
However, it seems increasingly certain that next 12 months the Iron Dames program will move to Manthey Porsche from one in every of the Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2s.
Mohr identified that Lamborghini's time is running out and it’s taking longer than expected to make a choice.
Entries for the WEC will close on November 18.
