Junior Williams F1 O'Sullivan lands in Super Formula 2025 at Kondo

Williams Formula 1 junior driver Zak O'Sullivan was announced at Kondo Racing as a part of Toyota's 13-strong squad for the 2025 Super Formula season.

After driving the ultimate day of Suzuki post-season testing earlier this month, O'Sullivan will race Kondo's No. 4 automotive full-time next season, joining Kenta Yamashita's squad.

The former Formula 2 driver was one in all three international drivers to participate within the Suzuka test, together with fellow Briton James Hedley and his former F2 rival Juan Manuel Correa.

O'Sullivan replaces Kazuto Kotaka at Kondo, but Kotaka will remain on the grid as a part of the newly formed TGMGP TGR-DC team.

The team, which is called after Toyota's national young driver program and boasts sponsorship from communications company KDDI, will employ staff from Servus Japan, which led TGM's work with Honda engines this yr.

Kotaka is joined by fellow Toyota junior Hibiki Taira within the team, while Seita Nonaka, who made a powerful impression in testing for KCMG at Suzuka this month, has been named as a reserve.

Elsewhere within the Toyota lineup, Sacha Fenestraz becomes Sho Tsuboi's teammate at TOM'S, while the Argentinian driver takes part in a double program that may also see him return to the brand's SUPER GT lineup with the SARD team.

Former Jota World Endurance Championship rider Oliver Rasmussen also earned a full-time seat on Team Impul because of his testing this yr.

The Danish driver joins Mitsunori Takaboshi at Impul, while the Nissan SUPER GT is an everyday driver of Toyota's development automotive.

KCMG (Kamui Kobayashi/Nirei Fukuzumi), Inging (Sena Sakaguchi/Toshiki Oyu) and Rookie Racing (Kazuya Oshima) have equivalent lineups as this season.

There is not any place in Toyota's expanded lineup for Ukyo Sasahara, who was one other test driver for Kondo but lost out to O'Sullivan in his bid for a full-time seat with the team.
