Feeney (Triple Eight Chevrolet Camaro), who finished second on the grid, needed to trail pole sitter James Golding (PremiAir Racing Chevrolet) for the primary three laps before finding the lead into turn six and constructing his result in as much as three seconds.
When his opponent went sideways, Feeney waited until mid-race to make a compulsory stop and construct a 1.62-second lead. At the top of 48 laps, his lead was 8.67-seconds.
“For a moment I thought I was going to have a plane crash,” Feeney, 21, said after the incredible moment on the primary lap.
“I knew I had a likelihood, so I took it. I used to be thrilled to get it done so early.
“I feel relieved, people around me know it was a difficult time.”
Veteran Mark Winterbottom highlighted his outstanding performance at Darwin by ending second in Team18 Chevrolet ahead of Will Brown (Triple Eight Chevrolet).
“It's a pity they didn't have the whole championship here!” said “Frosty”. “We had a few problems, my throttle under the brakes was sticking. Broc was fast, slow down young man!”
Fresh off his NASCAR Cup debut at Sonoma Raceway in California, Brown finished third in his Chevrolet Triple Eight.
“We had a pretty fast car, but the guys did an amazing job in the pits,” said the points leader.
“As we got closer to Frosty, everything heated up. Warm day, hot in the car and glad it's not an endurance round!”
Brown's tenth podium in 11 races was helped by a fast pit stop and slower work by other competitors within the pit stop.
Golding's podium hopes were dashed when he was forced to attend within the pit lane after a two-tire pit stop, which resulted in him ending fourth with a career-best finish on the checkered flag.

Behind the Camaro trio appeared the primary of the Ford Mustangs, which was undoubtedly the driving force of the race.
After a difficult qualifying session on Friday, Chaz Mostert from Walkinshaw Andretti United began from twenty second position and quickly climbed the grid from the primary lap, gaining nine positions 15 laps before the beginning of the pit cycle.
At the top of the race, Mostert was fourth, just 0.6 seconds behind Golding, showing that the WAU Ford will likely be of great importance within the race if the team is in a position to solve its qualifying problems.
“I'm very worried that we didn't qualify well,” he admitted. “We got the strategy right today, a few of the guys are probably annoyed with me, I was able to rely on people quite a lot!”
David Reynolds gave Team18 one other sixth-place reward ahead of the opposite driver who was slowed down within the pits, Nick Percat, who got here home seventh, ahead of Andre Heimgartner (Brad Jones Racing) and Tim Slade (PremiAir Racing).
In third place, Brown limited the scoring damage, leading Feeney 1,210-1,095. Mostert is third on 1,017, ahead of Cam Waters, who finished eleventh after a five-second time penalty on 778.
