The No. 6 factory Porsche Penske 963 of Laurens Vanthoor was seconds ahead of the No. 8 Toyota GR010 HYBRID driven by Ryo Hirakawa after 18 hours of racing at Le Mans, with marshals still replacing barriers in Indianapolis in the course of the caution period.
Heart of Racing driver Daniel Mancinelli was being lapped by the number 51 Ferrari LMH automobile when the Italian himself lost control of the number 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and hit the barriers hard, sending his automobile flying into the air and landing the other way up on the road . path.

In LMGT3, the class-leading No. 92 Manthey PureRxcing Porsche 911 GT3 R retired from contention with gearbox problems as Klaus Bachler brought the automobile into the garage shortly after the race went green again. Richard Lietz's sister #91 Manthey EMA Porsche took over from Bachler, but dropped to 3rd place at the top of the 18th hour after a pit stop.
