Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) has announced the signing of Louis Foster on a multi-year deal starting with the 2025 IndyAutomotive Series season.
The 21-year-old Briton is fresh off winning the 2024 Indy NXT Championship with Andretti Global, winning eight of 14 races while also earning a complete of seven pole positions, 12 podiums and leading 362 of 640 laps combined.

Foster was stuffed with gratitude for joining the team owned by Bobby Rahal, David Letterman and Mike Lanigan.
“I'm really looking forward to working with the team,” Foster said.
“Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has a track record of Indy 500 wins, obviously Bobby won the Indy 500, and the team has quite a lot of knowledge. I would like to thank Bobby, David and Mike for believing in my abilities and I would like to thank all of my sponsors who helped me fulfill my dream of driving in IndyAutomotive, especially Copart.
“I look forward to starting my IndyCar career with the team and hope we have a long and successful career together. I hope that the experience gained from winning the Indy NXT Championship will put me in a good position moving forward. This is where the hard work begins. We will start preparations and make sure that in St. “Pete, we will keep our feet on the ground.”
Foster got his first taste of IndyAutomotive machinery in September 2023 with Andretti Global and Road America. In an effort to be higher prepared, RLL is currently working to solidify its testing program for the 2025 season, which can include testing later this 12 months.
“We are very pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with Louis that he will drive for the team for the next few years,” said Rahal.
“He obviously dominated Indy NXT in 2024 and we feel he has a great future ahead of him and we are happy to support the ranking system created by IndyCar. We look at this as a long-term relationship that goes beyond existing conditions and we are very excited to begin preparations for the 2025 season and his debut on the series.”
Lanigan had particularly high praise for Foster, comparing him to the late Justin Wilson.
“We are very excited to have Louis Foster driving for us for the next few years,” Lanigan said. “I can't wait to see him grow into a future IndyCar star. He reminds me of another driver – the late, great Justin Wilson.”
