The Formula 2 sprint race on the Belgian Grand Prix has been postponed attributable to extreme rainfall at Spa-Francorchamps.
Like the Formula 3 sprint race at Silverstone, which was also postponed attributable to rain, the 18-lap race has been rescheduled for after Formula 1 qualifying. The race is scheduled to begin at 18:15 local time.
In a race with a partially reverse starting order, ART driver Zak O'Sullivan was attributable to start from pole position with MP Motorsport's Dennis Hauger joining him on the front row.
Fastest qualifying title contender Paul Aron (Hitech) should normally have finished tenth but two five-place grid penalties for infringements on the last race in Hungary saw him drop to twentieth.
Fellow challenger Gabriel Bortoleto (Invicta) and overall leader Isack Hadjar (Campos) would start from ninth and eighth place respectively.
The postponement was announced after a 50-minute delay in the beginning of the starting procedure, with 22 cars remaining within the pit lane and the protection automotive waiting on the starting straight.
After a delay of around 40 minutes while tractors blew a lot of the water off the track, Bernd Maylander accomplished a lap under the protection automotive, however the track was still not declared secure.
